All About Eve

“Fasten your seatbelts, it’s going to be a bumpy night!”

Aging broadway star Margo Channing (Bette Davis) befriends Eve, a timid super-fan (Anne Baxter). Paranoia strikes as Eve starts to weedle her way in and perhaps looks to take Margo’s throne.

A fantastic psycho-drama about performance, ageing and losing a sense of identity after x years in the public eye. The screenplay is razor sharp, quotable and elegantly put together.

Bette Davis makes the film sing, and is completely captivating. It’s also notable for starring Marilyn Monroe, who was just a star on the rise at the time but still completely lit up the screen with just a few lines.
