If you only have a surface level idea of what a Rambo movie is, this first one is very much not like the others and might surprise you. I’d urge you to seek it out then don’t bother with the sequels.

If you do know about these films then I’m sorry to parrot the same talking points you always hear - but they are correct. This is the ‘good one’ of the series, Rambo doesn’t kill anyone, and it’s a remarkably well considered piece about Vietnam war veterans.
