The Report
If it works, why do you need to do it 183 times?

The story of Dan Jones (Adam Driver), a senate staffer who wrote a report on the CIA’s misuse of torture following the 9/11 attacks.
It’s rare that anything this level headed and sober gets made these days. The Report makes Spotlight look like the Marx brothers, which is both what makes it great and what sometimes lets it down.
We get a blow by blow account of a project that spanned several years, and was doomed to be shit-canned from the start. This makes it feel faithful and true to life, but it also bogs itself down in detail.
Amazingly however, The Report never gets too complicated and never quite loses the audience. It’s a dry but crystal clear retelling of events, free of bullshit Hollywood embellishments.
