Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder get locked up in jail for a crime they didn’t commit. The spend their time in the clink planning to bust out.
This is undeniably one of the funniest on-screen duos ever, but the script is pretty slack and the actual jokes haven’t held up all that well. Everyone is great, but there long stretches of Stir Crazy that just aren’t funny.
By no means a bad film, but something about it just didn’t sink its hooks in me. Maybe I just wasn’t in the right mood.
