RIP: Stanley Donen

I just learned that Singin’ in the Rain and On the Town director Stanley Donen¹ has died aged 94². It’s a ripe old age but sad news nonetheless, this marks the passing of another figure from the classic age of Hollywood.

I always felt a bit of a personal connection to his work - we showed Singin’ in the Rain at our wedding³ and it was a huge hit in the cinema even 64 years after its release.

Thanks for the memories Stanley, rest in peace.
